For many of those years he was only able to pursue woodworking as a hobby but in 1987 he moved to Metchosin and decided to devote more time to furniture making. Since then his reputation has been built by producing mostly custom work. Peter has participated in the Stinking Fish Studio Tour since 2003. He is a member of the Vancouver Island Woodworkers' Guild and The Furniture Society - an International organization for furniture artists. He has exhibited pieces at the Maltwood Gallery and has been strongly influenced by the work of Sam Maloof and James Krenov, two American furniture makers. He is interested in expanding his repetoire and experimenting with new ideas and hopes to create more gallery quality pieces. He uses traditional joinery techniques and has produced pieces in a wide variety of styles. click to enlarge
