She was awarded the Lieutenant Governor's Medal of Excellence. A Canada Council Grant allowed her to spend a year and a half in Japan travelling and studying with Tatsuzo Shimaoka. Most of the work she produces is wheel thrown, using a porcelain clay that she makes herself. It is fired, in a reducing atmosphere, to cone 9 - 10 (1280º- 1305º centigrade) in a propane gas kiln. Her work is in many private and public collections throughout North America, China, Japan, Australia, Denmark, Iceland, Germany and England. click to enlarge
